JK2006 Oddly enough Popbitch just carried a story regarding how many million more singles sold this decade compared to the 60s - I suggest the price changes and easy availability of singles now means people happily buy anything and probably don't even listen to much of it; very different to the cherished gems we used to care so much about. Just as human life is now so superficial; our appreciation of music has dissipated and now it is just another consumer product.
NCS Different days, different plays. Great achievement. But things have changed, couldn't happen now.
JK2006 Yes it was huge in Germany, to my surprise, yet Chumbawamba's I Get Knocked Down, which I got signed by EMI Germany and would have thought could almost have been their theme song (and mine) was far less big a hit there than everywhere else! Go figure.
honey!oh sugar sugar. Actually, I didnt know about Johnny Reggae being a European hit, and I am a bit surprised because I think of it as a very "English" sort of song.
