All day playing Jacko's greatest hits and a good thing too but remind me - will they be doing a Gary Glitter tribute? Or is it only convicted vile perverts that get banned? Or slightly convicted (like DLT - banned Top of the Pops)? Or acquitted vile perverts like me? Or does my wrongful 2001 conviction negate my 2018 acquittal? It's so hard to understand, Director General Hall's dodgy tabloid morality.

But Michael Jackson was never convicted of anything, and the others were, so it is not really the same thing.

I hope after your mistaken conviction is officially overturned there will be non stop Johnny Reggaeing on the radio!

Highly unlikely it was a minor hit many years ago and wasn't played much before the conviction anyway, much like Glitter who did have very big success for a couple of years.

You think the top five is minor?

Yes it's the hypocrisy and inconsistency I hate. George Michael and Boy George? Hey they are popular; play them. Cliff falsely accused? Stop playing him unless he's acquitted. Phil Spector? Well he's only the producer and it was murder which isn't that serious. Child abuse? Block everything and no more Kevin Spacey movies 'cause he turned out to be gay.

It's not because he turned out to be gay, there are lots of gay actors on tv and in Hollywood, Ellen Green, Rupert Everett, Helen DeGeneres. It is because he was accused of sexual misconduct, although nothing has yet been proven. They would have written contracts that give them the option to remove the actors if there was any scandal. If they did have Spacey in their films, a lot of people would be put of watching them and the studios would lose lots of money. I agree that he shouldn't be sacked as he hasn't been convicted of anything.

honey!oh sugar sugar. I wonder who decides which of the crimes are acceptable?
To me, running amok in a car is pretty serious, but not, it seems, to the BBC.

I am very unconvinced of Phil Spector's guilt.
Interested Musiclover Does anyone know exactly what the BBC policy is towards playing music which contains contributions from people with criminal records.
