MCR Birmingham singer Lol Mason has died suddenly at his Harborne home from a fatal heart attack two weeks after kidney surgery.
He was singer in City Boy who had a hit with 5-7-0-5 in 1978 and The Maisonettes who had a hit in 1983 with Heartache Avenue.
His father Edward J Mason was the man behind the Dick Barton radio series and co-created The Archers. His older brother Jeremy
was an actor who appeared in Crossroads in the late 1970s and was the Birmingham Rep's youngest director.
