I think there is still an issue with getting music to it's audience.

You can promote it to your ten thousand friends on social media, but that is a different skill and can be pretty miserable and definitely not for everyone.

Those who just quietly make music seem to be a bit stuck.

And if you do think you can change the industry, Mr King, I am right behind you, cheerleading with pompoms.

I was in HMV today, to get McCartney III for a friend. Again they were blasting classic rock and 80's rock. HMV need to get listening booths again, it was nice to scan a random under the scanner and the album would play digitally with headphones. It was great to get a taster of band you've never heard of.

Honey Well, if this bit of the forum is dead, it needs to be turned into something else.
There is nothing we can do about the industry.

Maybe unsigned artists or people doing it just for fun would like to post their stuff for people to listen and comment on?
JK2006 And it all could - should - have been so different. Back in 2001 retailers should have been warned to do deals with Downloaders to give massive discounts to anyone bringing a computer or phone into stores and downloading through them. Ditto Streaming. I blame the BPI (and publishers and BASCA) for not anticipating the changes online was bringing. Surely, by 2001, it was clear this would affect the music industry? I remember NAPSTER. But then I'm old.
