Nathan Bennett Kitchenware Records seem to have a good reputation seeing what they have done with UK group Editors
Kev All Around The World have done well in an industry that swears dance is dead. Saying that, I'm sure I read somewhere that they seem to be branching out.
Martin K I have just thought about this one in the shower.
I am going to go for "Folkwit".
Not to everyones taste, the things that they bring out, but they would appear to have a passion, and that is important, it has to be about the music first.
JK2006 Labels? I suppose the obvious one is DOMINO but how is XL doing? Which are the best small, specialist indies (making fortunes out of dance or hip hop or rock or country or classics or folk...)?
Which are the best PRESS and PROMOTION indies?
Which are the best INDIE distributors? Is VITAL really an indie?
NOT those companies run or owned by ex major executives who get favours from old mates but are actually no damn good.
Really fresh, bright, intelligent small companies...
