Music to ITK ears. 11 Years ago
I had my leaver's course for the work programme, once your done your 2 years there. which I have nearly done.

You then have to go back to Job Centre for daily sign which is 4 each day for 3 months, then you got to do 3 months of litter picking for a town which 10 miles away, what happens after 6 months ?

How about settin up apprenticeships for the 25's, I thought about setting up a shop selling adult DVD's, as I can help setting up a business would it work ?

Are you saying you have to sign on four times a day?

With any business it is best to stick to something you have a passion for so porn might be good, but if jobs are scarce where you live perhaps money to buy films is scarce too? If you have the money to set up a shop I would move somewhere else and do it.

You might have to sign on 4 times a day or sit at a Jobcentre computer for hours each day. I'm going to attend a self employed workshop and see what they say, I know plenty of wholesalers.

How can you look for a job if you are back and forth to the job centre like a blue arsed fly?

This is the mentality of Ester Mcvey and Iain Duncan Smith Jobcentre reform, even going to the Jobcentre everyday for 4 hours a day is not going to work, there be too many people going for the same job, it be same jobs viewed over and over again. Even the community payback scheme has already caused controversy even by European Court of Human Rights

... maybe not - but they will be prevented from staying in bed all day / working cash-in-hand / or just misbehaving themselves generally .... they may even get so pissed-off that they get a a job !!!!

It's not going stop selling drugs in evening, work for their mates in the early hours for bit of cash in hand. Nearly the dolers I know are pissed off being on the dole, are doing everything they can to help them get work, I'm currently on a 13 week IT course which is voluntary.

I can see the point of them being there all day, if there was enough job centres, enough staff, and enough jobs to go round, but not traipsing there four times in a day!

I think one of the difficulties with being unemployed is that people try to make the best of it and fill their days with obligations so eventually you will hear them say that they "cant" get a job because they are needed to look after the dog/children/relatives/etc and it becomes even harder.

Oh dear. The quotey thing really hasn't worked at all.
What has happened to the layout etc? Why is there a "report to moderator" button when the moderator has already passed it before we see it?

And.... what happened to the lovely new captcha thing where you had to add up the numbers and it was much easier? (possibly not easier for people who followed the instruction to reproduce the image, not calculate it)

How very odd! Could it just be me? On my screen the quotes are all jumbled up and hard to follow, and I have an "alert the mod" function that wasn't there before.
I am using the same old laptop and I have learned NEVER to fiddle with the settings, so I am baffled.

I will alert my own post to see what happens.

These are things which dwp has not weighed out, Jobcentre's will be paying thousands each week in travelling expenses (Jobcentre's also have a limited budget). There be more people going for the same jobs, there be more people kicking off at staff, yes they ban them but they have to get them signed up to another Jobcentre.
