TOPIC: John Bishop's Australia
#117630
John Bishop's Australia 11 Years ago
I've always liked Bishop - he's funny, he's very cute (and was even more so at 20), I adored Scousers and love the Scouse accent (see my 1964-1969 life), and anyway these sorts of shows owe a lot to Entertainment USA.

He is actually from Runcorn. Its a "new town" that was created when half of Liverpool was bulldozed in the "slum" clearance of the sixties so the accent stayed strong and pure, because they were isolated, I suppose?

We call it a "Scotty Road" accent (an area where a lot of Runcorn and Kirkby people were sent from) but
it varies depending on the area.
I suppose mine is the Kenny Everett/Roger McGough type, and there is a new squeaky teenage version that I need subtitles for, and in the south of the city the accent is more Beatley"

I want a Koala! I'm going to track down the website and adopt one.

I've adopted Hibbard Alex - a female Koala.

Just proves that you cannot be a success at everything.

I do hope Billy Connolly is feeling better.
