When will someone speak about the dreadful activities of "Israel" ? 11 Years ago
news.sky.com/story/1297664/israel-pounds...-fires-across-border

Attacking men, women and children in an indiscriminate way - ie mass punishment - is not acceptable in a civilised world.

Imagine the reaction, if we had indiscrimately bombed civilian housing estates in Northern Ireland because someone had set-off a bomb in London !

As the "Israelis" and their puppet-masters seem determined to keep the repression of the Palestinians going forever, one can only wonder why more and more people are not signing up for Jihad - it seems the only way they will get any justice.

The Israeli military said that it had attacked 108 targets since midnight.

Palestinian sources say the cafe in Khan Younis was hit while people were watching the world cup semi-final on television. First reports say that nine people died in that attack.

Separately, eight Palestinians were killed in an air strike on a house near the city, the Palestinian health ministry said.

All the footage and photos look staged typical propaganda, there always going to be violence in Israel so it's not really news.

It isn't "their country" - its annexed Arab land.

So you agree in mass punishment then?
Next time someone plans a bomb it will be OK to bomb an entire city (just in case !) ?

The State of Israel was founded 66 years ago - in May 1948.

For many years, the USA has provided Israel with aid of $10m, a DAY. As a result, Israel is one of the most powerful nations in the world, militarily - with about 420 fighter aircraft, F-15's and F-16's. As well as an unspecified number of missiles, drones and stealth bombers.

More aircraft are in transit - the newer/more lethal F-35 and X-35. This is for a country the size of North Yorkshire. But why?

Seemingly, because Obama (and previous presidents) wants a friend/allie in this volatile area - and because of the extremely powerful Jewish lobby in Washington. It is important, for the USA, that this friend is both pliable and manoeuvrable.

It is now a critical time in the Middle East - and a place where an invisible UN should be more conspicuous/instrumental, not the US...

not sure you can call then loonies except in the sense they cannot possibly win against Israel's might.

But aren't they fighting for land that has been invaded by Israel and stolen?. If you look at the maps of the Occupied Territories the Palestinians have been squeezed Into about a 20th of what they once had.
Let alone that horrendous and ugly wall that makes the Berlin Wall look quaint.

I have no sympathy for either side; they should not be fighting; Palestine and Israel should exist side by side; all this violence is insane madness.

Thank God someone is listening !

Israel to 'resist international pressure' over Gaza
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28271546

The usual belligerent response - no wonder they have been kicked out (at some time or another) of almost every country on earth ! (For those who don't know they were banned from even entering England for over 400 years after King Edward III kicked them all out).

Time for less talk and more action - BAN All "israeli" products and squeeze the bankrupt "nation" even more.

There is no wonder that people turn to terrorism when the Palestinians are (daily) forced to live in these extreme circumstances and even after dozens of UN resolutions "Israel" hangs onto Palestinian land (protected from veto by the USA - more times than any other nation ever has been).

If we don't deal with "Israel" we will all pay the price of continued injustice and further terrorism.

Is that not a tad simplistic?

We are where we are - and they are fighting...

Haytham Besaiso, 26, Palestinian civil engineer from central Gaza City -

Living here is terrible. We are under siege. We can't import anything. We only have electricity for eight hours a day, that means you can't build anything. I am a civil engineer by trade but there are no construction materials. Manufacturing has been destroyed. Agriculture is massively diminished. We can't survive like this.

We are depressed. It's the first time that I feel like life isn't worth living.

We have to be allowed to live with dignity. The World needs to do something to help us. The peace process is very difficult and it has been going on for 20 years without resolution. There must be something in between. If the West wants to, it can organise something.

I am against the Israeli government, not the Israeli people but unfortunately the people are getting more extreme too in their views. It is the people who vote in the government. I think the Israelis are tired of this situation too and want a normal life but if they really, really, wanted to they could put pressure on their government to make peace but that is not happening.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28260203

He forgot to mention that they also control the water supply - and switch it off frequently.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay says there is "serious doubt" as to whether Israeli's military operation complies with international laws banning the targeting of civilians.

"We have received deeply disturbing reports that many of the civilian casualties, including of children, occurred as a result of strikes on homes," Ms Pillay said in a statement.

After Afghanistan, Israel is the largest recipient of US aid.

Different reasons - but does Israel need a £3B+ injection, every year?

Why do they get it?

And why would the donor seek to be a peace broker, in the war with their 'enemy?

UN Calls for Cease Fire

The UN Security Council has called for a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as Palestinian deaths continue to mount.

All 15 members approved a statement calling for de-escalation, the "restoration of calm" and a resumption of peace talks.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28279562

All 15 members eh .... could their little puppets be getting a little tired of them ?

The USA were in the 15.

A country which has donated $3b a year to Israel for many years; over $4b at times. ($4,000,000,000)

USA wants to broker peace, but that's difficult when they have been bankrolling one side for so long.

Iron Dome - is also being funded by the Americans.

Google that, and AIPAC - the USA's most powerful/influential organisation.

The "Israelis" have attacked Gaza again overnight - putting two fingers up to the world and the UN.

They had better be very very careful with this mass collective punishment, otherwise some may come to agree that its a good idea, in which case it would be very hard to criticise Hitler for having inflicted mass collective punishment in Germany.

Some major jumps and assumptions - in coming to that extraordinary conclusion
