Taxpayers 'lost £1bn' on Royal Mail sale, MPs say

'But in its scathing report the select committee said the shares had been undervalued and property owned by the Royal Mail had been mispriced when 60% of the company was privatised in October.'

Shows the coalition really has no idea.
Add to this fiasco IDS's wasted billions on welfare reform and you see a government with no real economic idea.

Didn't Gordon Brown sell GOLD reserves at a record market low......then when challenged, he set up his own enquiry (like the Blair government loved to do).....that exonerated him..............

Very conveniently forgotten by Labout supporters.......very conveniently forgotten, like all the other conveniently forgotten practices of a clueless Labour majority Government.........pension pots raided for tax, gold reserves sold......wasted, no rainy day fund or controlled spending for when it rained.....cos they weren't going to be left with the problem of sorting it

Spend, spend, spend.................

They also "conveniently" forget that as a nationalised industry we had been subsidising Royal Mail for years .... that will no longer be the case.

IDS took on an almost impossible job - reforming the gravy train.

Getting several independent computer systems to work in unison was always going to be difficult.

It may take years ... but every step is an improvement on the current system (and something Labour would not have attempted).

Never knock someone for having failed to deliver (yet) -
always knock people who never attempt to achieve
.

IDS is knocking many poor people who fail to deliver an exact amount of paperwork, but is happy enough to give our money away to thieving Gypsies and illegal aliens who invade our borders!...He knew this system could not work, but went ahead and wasted precious Tax payer money!!

Congratulations on your Knoghthood ITK...sorry Knighthood

Labour's reform on dwp actually did work when was Brown PM. People were in work not thrown on courses, sanctions were non existent, not many people used food banks.

I got to fill the whole job book in, foreigners only need to fill about 6 boxes in if I did 6 I get sanctioned.
