If this review is anything to go by he doesnt know much. It seems to accept the Duncroft allegations as fact.

Bound to be in "The Works" within weeks!!

Davies certainly did not 'know him best' - a MWT-esque boast that shows how substantial and honest a work this will be. There are other better journalists of integrity better qualified to speak about the late Sir Jimmy Savile and did get to know him well - that they are maintaining a dignified silence at the moment tells us all we need to know about how vociferous the present witch hunt is.
What Dan 'The Man' Davies did do is betray a lot of people in his quest to produce this book and 'make his mark'. jimcannotfixthis.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/nazification.html

Mark Williams-Thomas is thanked in the acknowledgements. Say no more.

‘The man who dressed like a paedophile was a paedophile’

You mean there's a way a paedophile dresses?

And we all knew what it was back then?

It's mad how this twit has been let off the hook. First, when Savile died, he was given space in the Daily Mail to say how well he knew 'Sir Jimmy' and how friendly they'd become and what a good man he'd been. Then, post MWT allegations, he revamps his book dramatically and reinvents himself as the Witchfinder General who'd always wanted to expose Savile as the monster he'd always been. And which paper, with easy access to the cuttings that showed up that contradiction, settled for giving his book five stars? The Daily Mail. Craig Brown was the author of that painfully creepy review.
