in watching Pointless contestants give silly answers but I was pleased to see the girl who thought the original language of Anne Franck's Diary was German go out. Enter code here Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.

I think the horror of it makes details like if she spoke Dutch or German unimportant, so it would be easily forgotten.
I'm not sure how much of it is taught in schools now, but the resources available are very basic,so when I was teaching it to my children we built a "hiding place from the soldiers" in the attic and it made a lasting impact. (It was grim)
