The Malaysian Flight- When The News Hits Hard 11 Years ago

I was walking with a young Malaysian friend the other day, a wonderful human being, and he was telling me with great joy that his sister and her young family him just spent a week here in Nottingham visiting him from Australia. They left to visit some relatives in the Netherlands, before heading home.

And you can guess what flight they were on.

It's awful when there's a direct personal link. Brings it all home. Had a similar conversation today with a friend whose Thai friend might have been on the flight. I had a wonderful evening with my friend tonight. Just the two of us talking about life, the universe and everything, and even having a laugh or two. We gave each other a huge hug at the end. Interesting, isn't it ... that when nothing else makes any kind of sense, that a kind of spirituality pervades to put our small existence into some kind of overall perspective ?
