Some houses have about 22 people living in them, with all the occupants claiming JSA, they how to abuse the system the government won't sanction them.

Tories are so denial about the Roma etc coming over here collecting dole, wonder what ITK thinks about the migrant abusing the system also ?

So true Pattaya, UKIP are so in touch with the public especially in Thanet, Farage comes here a lot, Cameron came here once to look at the white elephant (Turner Contemporary) I never seen a Turner painting in there.

Mr Smith will have a huge wake up call if he came here, Osbourne will run a mile to see what misery he has caused to thousands of locals.

Margate is just a dumping ground and a haven for immigrants.

Its simples, hedda

Some of the greedy hand-out merchants (always so keen to blame others but always there with their own hands out !) are hanging onto spare rooms that they don't need - forcing other housing costs.

The scroungers cost us double !

I suggest we introduce a "swap" system ... anyone on the dole for 12 months can be swapped for someone in a Calais squat ... everyone should be given a change to show they can contribute !

They all used to be very nice affluent areas ... what went wrong?

(Could it be that the wealth creators moved out when the spongers moved in?)

Tories used it as a dumping ground for perverts, kids who have been in care, local entrepreneurs are bent, remember Jimmy Godden Pattaya he fucked up Folkestone as well not just Margate.

Actually in line with general holidaying trends in the UK,other cheaper/better options sprung up abroad. This left lots of excess residential accommodation over the period of the 70s/80s.
Since the arrival of thousands of eastern EU gypsies, the money spent on rejuvenation by the Coalition is having no effect in those areas where the 'benefit tourists' are residing.

No they didn't ... they may have used it because it was a dump (and therefor cheap) - but who made it a dump in the first place ?

Changing holiday trends, sunny Spain and the fact Maggie increased unemployment by more than double in her first year, these were the real causes.
Oh and who was in government during this time? The last successful innovations here were under a Labour government.Expect The Cons to get obliterated here at the next election.

and who introduced the most disastrous ever policy to decimate council housing and drive up costs and produce a generation of small town Tory 'property investors' complicating what should be a simple solution?

only one answer will be accepted and it must have the word 'Maggie' in it

Ah yes, the wonderful Margaret Thatcher !

She who gave MORE working people the chance to own their OWN home than anyone else !

She who gave MORE people the chance to have a stake in society (and make some dosh !) by becoming share-owners and co-owners of the places where they worked !

(You only have to take a cursory glance round a Council estate and you can see from 100 yards which have been bought - and properly maintained, with nice gardens - and which are almost slums (why care for something that comes free?)

What a bizarre view of the world !

If someone is actually worth something they would be retained, rewarded and incentivised - so they didn't go elsewhere.

It is NOT government's job to "find" places for the unemployable (just to keep the numbers down !)

She who sold off the utility companies cheap, the same ones that now treat us so badly...

More badly than the never-ending subsidies that we had to pay (continually) to EVERY nationalised industry ?

If you had hung onto your shares you would have a say in how the firms were run ... but then the "working classes" always grab the money and run, don't they? Something for nothing (as usual)
