Bradford West MP George Galloway yesterday called for the town of Bradford to be twinned with the stricken Palestinian city of Gaza.

He made the appeal at a public rally against the on-going massacre in Gaza at Bradford Town Hall which was attended by hundreds of demonstrators. It is the second such demonstration in Bradford following the largest ever public gathering in the city’s history a fortnight ago.

It would not be the first time that the MP has succeeded in twinning British and Palestinian towns. In 1980 he was involved in a campaign to twin his home city of Dundee with the West Bank city of Nablus, a twinning which remains until this day.
