As we witness horrible ISIS massacring innocents - ASSAD looks like a nice guy! Just where would ISIS be if Gaddafi, Sadaam, Ben Ali, Mubarek were still around? The ghastly Arab Spring - I always hated the praise heaped upon it and loathed us helping one set of rebels against another.

I blame the media and the constant search for a good story, no matter what the consequences. Today's media is the Ebola Virus of society.

Most of the supporters of the Arab Spring had never spent long or even visited an Arab Country.

But you would realize that it can but exist with strong and if needed ruthless leadership at the top!
You will never transplant an alien democratic system on such a diverse race/religious mix as Syria/Iraq with any success.Even Libya which is much less diverse has slid into the anarchy those of us who have been there knew it would.
If Assad fails ISIS,or something similar will crawl out of the bowels to rule.The 'rebels' were always a diverse mix,and had we removed Assad for them we would be doing exactly what was done in Afghanistan after Dr. Mohammad Najibullah lost power.First infighting,then a Taliban type organisation (Saudi funded of course) would sweep them from power.

It was the Syrian people who rose up against Assad - remember?

If Assad fails

... the people of Syria get what they originally asked for !
If he stays its back to square one !
