They do believe however he 'promised' them Israel.

I would have thought taking the whole of Crimea and more plus shooting down hundreds of innocents a far bigger land grab than annexing a thousand acres of dust that nobody was using anyway. I'm not defending it, it's really quite belligerent and unhelpful, but like JK I wonder what motivations lead to such criticism.
