Hundreds of migrants in Calais storm a P&O ferry

I travel through Calais most weeks,these criminals have ruined it for the locals.Economic migrants,nothing more or nothing less!

'A ferry bound for Britain has been stormed by up to 250 illegal immigrants who tried to force their way on board the vessel at the French port of Calais.'

'The news comes as the mayor of Calais threatened to blockade the port unless Britain pays out to compensate locals for the money spent controlling large and unsanitary immigrant camps in the area.
Natacha Bouchart says locals have been 'taken hostage' by about 1,500 migrants who hope to cross into the UK because they see it as 'an Eldorado' with a lax attitude towards immigration.'

'News of the ferry storming comes as Ms Bouchart demanded Britain compensate Calais residents whose lives have been made a misery by immigrant camps in the area.
She blames Britain for having a lax immigration policy which encourages people to try and travel there in the hope they will be given a warmer welcome than in other parts of Europe.'

I doubt the people making the laws live near a bunch of criminal immigrants...and can't see why the european public are turning to anti EU parties in droves as a result....front page news,bet it adds a few more percentage points for UKIP.

If they ever were actually persecuted it stopped a long time ago,and the law states they should claim political assylum in the first safe country..not hop around europe looking for the best 'benefit deal'.

Just wonder what the French police would do to me if a group of my friends and I invaded a port,climbed fences,and tried to get onto a ferry?

If we do not come down hard on these criminals soon there will be no public appetite for even genuine refugees...we must act now,to protect the genuine needy,who will get forgotten,as they already have to many people here.

Uncontrolled immigration is almost what we have now...and a few on here would no doubt think we shouldn't be talking about this...in case we use a supposedly nasty name for these criminals...or we incite racist thoughts even mentioning it

On that note had to deal with a group of Slovak gypsies hassling an old lady in the cut through from the old bowling building to Morrisons car park entrance...they're turning that into a no go area at times...but then again the richer boarders would never need to come across such things.

Open borders - I cry again; and must admit I cannot understand why, if they are legally in France (and the EU) they can't simply enter Great Britain. It's all beyond me.

They're not legally in France,they're illegal immigrants who move around to milk the systems of those countries they can get to.
As for the EU,we don't have open boarders,for exactly this reason,a lot of the Somalis there are radical Muslims...and the Eritreans are radicalised in other ways...oh and as for the Syrians they're.....you should go visit yourself Mr King,being in touch with a situation on the ground is so much better than forming opinions from meejah outlets.

I never liked that area Pattaya maybe ITK should walk down there. The graffti there and vandalism is appaling the local MP's and council should really wake up and see what a no go area Margate is.

When was this incident pattaya, what did you do to them after and what did they do to the old lady ?

Just beggars who came across as intimidating Andrew....I simply went up to them,asked the women if she was ok,then walked her out of the situation.I often find looking people directly in the eye scares them off.

Will be at Gary's Pie Shop outside Morrisons tomorrow morning,pop over,we can go Chugger watching.

Must be something else we can do like birdwatching.

In Dover they did do a good job cracking down on beggars even in Southend. There is plenty of police driving around but never seen one walking around around the high street or even the council estates.

The seafront has improved but the rest of the town is neglected.
