US Open - after Lendl retired, I became a huge Goran Ivanisevic fan (I obviously like something about East European tennis players - I loved Martina too). I thought Goran's Wimbledon win was the best ever (I love men not ashamed to show their emotions). So I'll be rooting for Cilic to win the US Open (Goran's his coach).

Well done Goran (and Cilic). What is it about those East Europeans? I first met Lendl when I interviewed him in the early 1980s as Junior Wimbledon Champion and supported him until he retired (infuriatingly he NEVER won Wimbledon). Then moved over to Goran whose Wimbledon win was one of the best things in a dreadful year for me. Something about when they are good they are great but they collapse regularly - then sometimes come roaring back; makes for edge of the seat viewing! And they really, really care.
