TOPIC: ISIS butchers - the answer
#120535
ISIS butchers - the answer 10 Years, 10 Months ago
Surely the first and most important weapon is - media silence. Of course the media, whose only morality is "is it a good story?", won't like this but why are they beheading people? To get publicity. Don't give it to them. Even get Facebook, Twitter and others to remove such videos.

So obvious, so simple, a failsafe way to save lives yet no government dare suggest it.

I fear they've already killed all of these people. I doubt they'd keep going back to an increasingly searched-for site to commit each act. They ignore any attempts to negotiate, maybe, because they already have several deaths on tape ready for release. As for publicity, well, it's harder than ever before to block it all out, but I agree it needs managing very carefully.

You've done this already JK,and we're now in a worldwide meejah age, with the net, satellites etc this simply will not work.
May have worked to a limited degree back in the 50s etc,but not now.

Not in favour, JK - once you have media silence you are halfway to government control (as in wartime) when the ONLY version you hear is the biased distorted (dishonest) view that the government wants you to hear.

(Besides, now we have the net it would be impossible to control)

Lovely pics on BBC - don't carry them. Lovely front pages in the tabloids - don't print them. Lovely discussions about "what shall we do?" - don't broadcast them. The media are happily allies in the murders - why? Because it's a good story.

If you hide stuff you'll just find peeps go out of their way to find it,just because it's hidden. It'll just set off a load of conspiracy theories,ITK and BR will be here telling us it's all linked to some gigantic conspiracy to keep humanoid dinos in control...etc,God only knows what else.

It's idiotic government policy that got us into this mess, and the majority of the public are aware of this, and jump to the relevant conclusions.

Oh yes of course there will still be media avoiding the ban - the odd Twitter (isn't all Twitter odd?) but the stunning decrease in publicity would seriously damage the intent.

I must say I cannot understand WHY media carries stuff about ISIS - it can only be because it's a good story and we, the public, love reading/hearing about it.

Immigrant Brits (2nd/3rd) generation cutting of other Brits heads will always interest the meejah,I would be very worried if it did not.
Another very good reason to stop immigration from muslim lands?

of course the western media is complicit in promoting ISIS snuff movies. And the public seem to lap it up which gives lie to the claim we are a civilised bunch.

Oddly, the media never publishes the beheadings in Britain's staunch ally and brutal dictatorship Saudi Arabia which also channels funds to ISIS.
They have publicly executed nearly 60 this year including a pregnant woman and her daughter.

as Ned Kelly famously said when sentenced was handed down for him to be publicly hanged for defending his family against brutal & corrupt police : "such is life"
