Well Hoffman's great (not a difficult part) and the film is good but not more; it's true to the spirit of Le Carre but the problem is - his books give you the room and time to use your own imagination and think… film never does that. By occupying all the senses it disables your slow thought process. Perhaps that's why Le Carre worked so much better in long, weekly TV series than as a short movie.
