As usual in our superficial society, the answer to ISIS is far more complex than a simple solution reveals. An intelligent man on BBC News just said that very pointed bombing can pin down ISIS forces and stop them advancing (which makes sense to me).

But the larger problem (should we be doing anything?) remains. My main worry is that it is all so Media driven. We as a society only seem interested in problems getting massive media coverage ("good stories").

I have a feeling (but don't know - media again) that there is a much bigger and more desperate problem in Africa/Congo than ISIS chopping the odd high profile head off.

I remember being horrified after the Hutu/Tutsi massacre in 1993 that 25,000 people could be killed without a squeak from the UK media. Likewise when, the other day, it was casually mentioned that 17,000 children a day die for no good reason. Yet the media isn't bothered. Which I find really, really strange.
