Over the past few years, the McCanns have been the major target for the trolls online. Now those trolls are being investigated prior to prosecution and jail. Soon our prisons will be bursting with trolls. What a weird world this has become this century. As I predicted in 2000.

there is no need for abuse or death threats, ever, but there is bound to be strong feeling, especially as the McCanns are very unsympathetic characters. (which does not imply guilt)

There is every reason for people to be angry when the authorities appear to have (either deliberately or by accident) hindered the investigation, and the media insist that the McCanns have been cleared of involvement (they have not) and when people are sued for discussing the facts in the police report, and statements from the McCanns themselves.

There is no evidence of kidnap, so every possible scenario should be explored in order to find out what happened to the child.

They put themselves in the public arena - and sought as much publicity as possible.

So true, no evidence of kidnap, but much evidence of accidental death and NON-accidental coverups.

Hmm, I do have problems with parents who leave kids on their own in an unsecured chalet or flat whilst out boozing though....

Clearly the message here from the authorities is that it is a potentially criminal offence to use social media to accuse someone of criminal wrongdoing based on hearsay, supposition and innuendo and such things must be stamped out using the full weight of the law.

I have therefore reported Mark Williams-Thomas to the police.

normally don't like these ambushes but that was informative (the reporter was admirably polite)

what an odd looking woman but as JK says - Green Ink Letter Writers or as I call them, today's Poison Pen Letter authors and often they are the most "respectable" person on the village.

She looks like an ordinary middle aged woman who is being scapegoated in the papers to me. The couple of posts of hers we have seen have been unpleasant, but not threatening, (unless I missed some?) and people here wish terrible things on Mark Williams Thomas regularly!
The list of abusive comments in the papers are mostly not from this woman.

And oh look! It has all coincided with ANOTHER SIGHTING of Madeleine McCann. Who'd have guessed?

I can't be the only one who thinks that the Mcanns should be hanged surely? What they did that night was inexcusable. Does that make me a troll? How different would the media have treated them if they were black, working class and on benefits? Why were the parents of the child with cancer who fled to Spain charged with neglect and the Mccanns weren't?

People from the David Icke Forum in the Savile Exposed thread have accused Gerry McCann of being the
son of Jimmy Savile. Are they going to track them down and arrest them too?

I have never seen anyone on here wish "terrible things" on Mark Williams-Thomas, just that he tells the truth for once.

The man is 44 years old and was detective for less than 6 months.

He falsely claimed to have run the JK investigation which is bollox as serious sex complaint investigations must be run by at least at Inspector level ( a rule in all police forces for obvious reasons). He may have worked the phones,conducted an interview etc.

The man is a blatant liar damned by his own words and a danger to society but if he started another chewing gum removal company he and us would be out of harm's way.

With such a capacity to lie he should never, never be anywhere near an important matter like child abuse.

This was the mildest of 'ambushes' I've ever seen but she has a right to tell any reporter to 'piss orf'.
