TOPIC: If I was still voting
#121531
If I was still voting 10 Years, 9 Months ago
I'd probably vote Lib Dem again, the only party that speaks any sense. Tories speak and do rubbish; ditto Labour. Both need a check on their behaviour and one or the other will, for some reason, be the biggest party. UKIP are mad loonies, not worth taking seriously though Farage will win his seat and perhaps one other. Media rools.

Is that after you've wrecked our economy by joining one of the worlds worst performing economies (Euro)?
Or after the job and housing crisis after you've opened the borders to the possible 100 million+ lowly immigrants who can buy a cheap fare, live 10 to a room and will come on mass given a quarter of a chance?

The Libs are at their least relevant in politics since Clement Davies won his 2.5%,and that is for a reason Mr King.UKIP are popular for another reason Mr King,if you studied the typical working person you may well even understand why.

To say 'none of them are any good' - and not vote - is a cop out. Often, it can be a difficult choice as most parties have broadly similar policies.

But to frequently complain/moan (usually quite rightly) about inefficiencies, inappropriate legislation, the power of the mrdia etc. - wihout voting - seems perverse, paradoxical and ultimately futile.

I agree with jk, the lib dems have the best balance between a fair society and a growing economy. The best thing that this government has done is increased the lower tax threashold, which everyone benefits from. This was a lib-dem policy. Germany seems to be doing pretty well on the euro, as does Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. The reason that Spain and Italy failed was not because of the Euro, but the nature of their economy.

Their immigration policy is pretty much the same as tories, as regards eu immigration there is nothing you can do. If we left the EU we would lose thousands of jobs, because companies would leave to avoid paying tariffs to trade with Europe, much the same as if Scotland left the uk.

One vote makes no difference. Most politicians are useless, gutless, dominated by fear of losing their seat if the media takes against them. People get elected through having good hair, nice teeth, glib speaking abilities - none of which makes them competent. I do not trust the public to vote for the party with the most intelligent people and policies. Thus I shall no longer join in this farce. No matter who gets elected they will screw up.

Oh dear Robbie, really does pay to know your stuff before posting

The Libs wanted to join the Euro, and no doubt would have had they had a majority in parliament. We would have joined their recession, instead of having the good growth we're now having.
Germany is in and out of recession,as are the majority in the eurozone.Latvia only joined the euro at the beginning of the year.It had its own recession a few years back, but being outside the straight jacket of the euro managed to get itself out of its mess.
Spain/Ireland/Italy/Greece et al were never suited to the currency, while it's debatable if their problems were caused by the euro their recovery(if any) is certainly being held back by it...I lived in Spain for a long time, and the euro is too overvalued and hinders their trade/tourism etc.

The EU...why stay in a junkyard when you can trade with the world?...yes some jobs will be lost, but other opportunities will become available that the EU blocks now....remember the WTO,put paid to tarrifs and import restrictions.

Immigration,EU immigration means our benefits are exploited, wages depressed, housing at breaking point.Out of the EU we can choose who we have and when...I doubt if Clegg is in touch with working peeps....as is shown by his poll ratings

JK - a successful and accomplished man.

What would have to happen before you decide to vote?

Unfairness, inequality, bullies, racists, torturists, dictators or vile men - maybe?

If you thought those common human traits were worthy of your assistance...
