I'm already a Philip Pullman fan (His Dark Materials - one of the five best books of the century so far). And of Julie Walters. But Billie Piper (Evans?) is really turning into an excellent actress. In Dr Who Billie Piper had only two expressions. I didn't see Ruby In The Smoke so can't say whether she's improved - but there was certainly lots of room for it.
