Even with a fast computer like this one, it is so easy to overload a Myspace site and lose your viewer before it is all up and loaded, which happened to me in this case. Less is so often more, and Youtube and Myspace provide that ability.
I just went through quite a few sites, looking for acts to tip and I am finding this problem very common.
All is required are a couple of pictures and the music/video. The rest is best saved for the
www.com.sites.
I`d like to think that my "free" sites just give the basic info out. I have been employed by a web company to review and run their music section and the guy ran me through what he had done already including the "flash" intro, with the little "loading 55%" etc bar, and he has agreed that nobody will sit through it if they just want to read and sample the tracks.
I see the internets entertainment value as halfway between newspapers and tv/radio, i.e get to the point as fast as possible.
