TOPIC: Judge arrested

Judge arrested 17 Years, 3 Months ago
Knowing no details about this, let us hope for the best outcome; that a Judge experiences first hand the effects of the exploding area of crime - false allegations.
Of course, he might be guilty.

Judge arrested in flashing probe

One of Britain's most senior judges has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself to a female train passenger.
Lord Justice Richards, who sits in the Court of Appeal, was held on Friday following a complaint from a woman that a man exposed himself to her.

The incident is alleged to have taken place last year in the London area.

Sir Stephen Richards, 56, from Wimbledon, south London, denies the allegation and has been released on police bail to return next month.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: "On Friday we arrested a 56-year-old man in connection with an ongoing investigation.

"He was released on police bail to return to Ebury Bridge police station on March 2."

Sir Stephen, a married father of three, has overseen several high profile hearings including that of Jean Charles de Menezes - the Brazilian killed by armed police at Stockwell tube station in south London.

This brings up another issue with the legal system - he's bailed until 2 March - is the time it takes for things to proceed.

A person I don't know directly has been bailed and re-bailed (If there is such a word) repeatedly. It is something they say they didn't do and in January had their waiting extend, once more, to late February.

While I appreciate that things take time it does seem in my limited experience that it can take many months for someone to discover the case against them will not proceed.

I have no solution and each case is unique but wheels moving so slowly has a terrible effect on a person who may not have actually done anything untoward.

But the hope is that it IS a false allegation, is proved to be so and enables a Judge to experience the appalling consequences and ease of manufacture so he can spread the word amongst his colleagues.

The law needs to be changed.

Look at the cop who killed someone for speeding - the judge said that he has suffered enough, so going to jail is wrong.
