You can make your own paneer very easily.
I bought mine this week from my friend Ahmed, who runs a catering shop, but here`s how you do it.

Boil up your excess milk.

As it starts to bubble, thrown in lemon or lime juice to curdle it , shut the lid and leave to cool.

You then have cottage cheese, I then stick a heavy saucepan on it after sieving the fluid out and press it under one of my saucepans with a brick on top.

When you get a block that resembles a cheese, stick it in the fridge, and deep fry it before usage in curries etc.

Mind your eyes when frying, it spits very hot fluid at you.

I normally make my own when I have an excess of milk, it`s better than wastage, and tastes better than chicken.

Stop Press; M&S do very good Lemon Pancakes - microwave, just bung them in for 1.45 min and they come out piping hot and delicious if you can't be bothered with eggs, milk, flour etc!!

I`ve just had a rather large haunch of venison delivered from Farmer`s Choice along with other items. I havent worked out what i`m going to do with it yet!

Re. the M&S pancakes, this reminded me of a fantastic review of the Little Chef chain in the Guardian, in which a lady asked for an omelette and was told "The postman hasn`t brought them yet!"
