Free those illegally locked up inmates (around 5000 on IPP). Stop sending innocent people to jail (many eventually freed on appeal - thousands each year). Stop prosecuting people for historical allegations with no evidence. Listen to senior officers and prison governors - they work on the front line; they know what is wrong.

Read Hitchens in today's Mail. Dead officers is the least we can expect. Massive breakouts and anarchy is far more likely.
