And don't forget "every waking moment of his life spent thinking about abusing boys and girls" this quote from a senior Met Officer live on TV when referring to Jimmy Savile. I have it on good authority, that Det Supt Gray and Commander Spindler apologised in private for that unjust and uncorroborated remark (as if you could ever prove such an idiotic statement) maybe the Met now needs to give a public apology and an explanation.

In case ordinary or new readers cannot believe it -

Jimmy Savile was “a prolific, predatory sex offender” who “spent every minute of every waking day” thinking about abuse, it was revealed yesterday.
The disgraced TV presenter could have been prosecuted for offences against at least three victims while he was alive, had victims been taken more seriously.
“This whole sordid affair has demonstrated the true consequences of what happens when vulnerability collides with power. He groomed a nation,” said Commander Peter Spindler.

I was under the impression that only one person had ever reported Jimmy Savile to the police before he died, and had withdrawn their complaint.
Sussex police confirm 2008 assault claim
It seems unlikely that false allegations will be seen to be a problem until the Savile allegations stop being held aloft like some kind of Holy Grail.
