Corbyn excellent again on PM's Question Time 7 Years, 1 Month ago
The May woman just gives cliches and moans about how bad Labour were in power. Jeremy seems informed and sensible; and less hysterical. We all know why the traditional media hates him; I wonder whether voters this week will fall for the tabloid publicity?

NOT what the public think, JK !

ICM said its latest poll was the worst for Labour since 1983,
when Michael Foot was poised to endure a general election wipeout —
with the exception of one poll in 2008 under Gordon Brown.

Not the first time I've disagreed with the public - if you can call poll respondents "the public".

I am worried about Jeremy.

My fear is that he is being distracted by the perceived need to perform well in parliament when the real change that he represents is a grass roots following that sits outside the usual media.

Instead of playing to the BBC and other media, I believe a countrywide campaign, with regional meetings, facebook events and direct connection with the people, is the way forward.

The vast majority of people could not give a flying fuck about PMQ's. The vast majority of people agree with Jeremy's agenda.

Recovering Labour's proper position is possible.

However..... currently, the Labour Party by itself cannot win the next election, so the plan has to be longer term, including exposing the nonsense of the Scottish Nationalist Socialist Party, and reconnecting with the allegedly ignorant racist working classes of the North.

I'm an old fart lefty who fondly remembers the humanity of Tony Benn, and I joined Labour to support Jeremy. The forces against him are immense though.

What absurd nonsense !

This is the problem with these Loonies - they only "listen" to people telling them what they want to hear - and are isolated from the real world.

When EVERY opinion poll - and many actually campaigning on the doorstep - tell them that the Fruitcake is unelectable - they simply do not listen.

When Stoke and Copeland fall today it will be the fault of the weather !!!!

The results will be interesting; if Labour lose both; you are correct ITK; the public listen to the media and are influenced. If they hold one, lose the other; jury still out. If they hold both; media fail.

One of the candidates in Stoke on Trent is The Incredible Flying Brick, of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party.
www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-39057362

Makes you wonder who the unofficial party are.

The Incredible Flying Brick will save Stoke
Loony Membership

But I do hope that Labour can retain the seats, and if not that the Lib Dems win both, but that's probably an even remoter possibility.

In Copeland the Labour vote has dropped from 20,000 majority a decade ago, to 5,000 in 2015 ... will then even have a majority later today ?

Just as they have already been completely wiped-out in Scotland (once their power base !) so place after place is waking-up to the fact that they have nothing to offer.

Corbyn is the laughing stock of politics.

Luckily he's so bad the loony leftards which are Labour stand no chance of getting in while he is leader.

I'm with the May woman.

Anyone read that article by Zuckerberg about a week ago ... about "bubbles" ?

The basic theory of the story is that rather than increase people's knowledge and understanding - the net has actually often narrowed it.

People only "follow" people they already like .. and hear exactly what they wanted to hear ... without ever coming across a different perspective.

When the Corbyn Loonies are going on about how popular he is with the "hip young things" with his radical (Loony) thinking ... if that is all you hear then you will probably believe it.

But when you talk to REAL people ... those who will be bothered to turn out and vote .... those who have had experience of the Left-Wing Lunacy before - then its a totally different message !

At first there was a small triumph for Jeremy Corbyn in holding at bay UKIP's surge into his party's heartland in Stoke. But, minutes later, came the terrible loss of the staunch Labour seat of Copeland to the governing Conservatives.

news.sky.com/story/corbyn-election-win-i...land-defeat-10779439

A small triumph ?

Seeing your majority slump from 20,000 a decade ago ... to 5,000 in 2015 ... to "just hanging on" ?

We need a few more "triumphs" like that !

You have hit the nail right on the head. Can we go for a drink one day and discuss this and that over a pint of lemonade. (I don't drink booze any more) ?

As for Corbyn's position and David Miliband's comments; quite simply I don't agree with David at all. Whilst Labour under Blair (and Miliband) did indeed take power, I reckon Labour now is FAR more popular than it was then and if Jeremy retains his position, I think it will win the next election (I'd vote for him).

Popular amongst the converted .... poll after poll (and election after election) shows Labour support waning away.

Only JK can see the reverse !
