This is an intriguing one. The "victim" contacted the "offender's" partner and told her what had happened. The young girl certainly seems like a bit of a tearaway, so I wonder whether she was putting a blackmail squeeze on this guy or any of her other conquests.

I don't approve of the man's conduct, as described, but it's not my role to judge his private relationships so long as they cause no actual harm or material loss to others. I certainly don't think his actions require the same penalty as a manslaughter, a violent rape, causing death by dangerous driving or a brutal knife or bat assault: all of which would get you around 6years.

The offender is the man who had sex with the minor.
However, there is usually something terribly wrong when a young girl becomes promiscuous, and I would hope that the family background is looked at very carefully.

You know, if as a teenager I had ever had the urge to have sex with various men I would never EVER have done it because 1) I knew it was wrong, and 2) my mother would have gone bananas and my life would not have been worth living!

My answer is that there are many more than one sex offenders and one is indeed the promiscuous young girl. Now the question is - what to do about it? I believe the law needs changing but so does the attitude. It may be she is, when interviewed in depth, a perfectly balanced and mature person who has decided that is the way she wants to live her life. Or it may be she has been taught or brought up entirely wrongly. Or she may have been abused or mistreated when younger. And the resultant treatment should reflect the individual situation and people - all the way around. That is the problem with the system. Generalisation only causes harm.

poor girl needs serious help if she saw anything remotely fascinating in a brute like that.

She is a victim but of so many things..society and it's horrendous Puritan morals which are non-existent except in tabloids?

give her all the help she needs and take away that Ipad.
