This instant slogan attitude to problems is now so ridiculous it is dangerous. Surely anybody with more than one brain cell can see that, if a terrorist or suicide bomber wants to blow up a plane, and hasn't yet clicked that laptops and tablets are no longer the way, would, tomorrow, change their one way tickets to go via Paris or Madrid or Copenhagen?

Yes, terribly annoying to have to change flights on your way to paradise but hey, those virgins will wait.

It really does disturb me that our stupid simplistic leaders can not only get elected by using three word slogans but can run countries the same way.

Ghastly Grayling (the minister most keen to grab the Moron title from May, Truss or Rudd) will be asked in the Commons today about this brilliant new Laptop ban. Hopefully the many MPs visiting here will include whoever asks the questions which I suggest should include 1) is a bomb in the hold far less dangerous than a bomb in the cabin and 2) why won't potential suicide bombers switch flights to go via somewhere else on the way?
