Syria 7 Years ago
Dear Trumpet could you just explain for us stoopids? We all want ASSAD out, right? That's why you've just bombed him. And even our mighty Foreign Secretary has said Assad Out. So I assume we want Syria to be run by the opposition, Isis. Correct? Can I ask why?

It really is confusing. Russia is helping Assad beat Isis and others - right? We don't like ISIS and the linked terrorist organisations, right? Should we not be helping Assad, not fighting against him? After he has won and Isis has been destroyed, then we should start talking to him about how he treats his people, right? As should the Russians, right?

I'm not sure if it's clear whether they've been targeting ISIS or rather anti-Assad groups who have been fighting on two fronts against pro-Assad forces and ISIS. Or perhaps I have completely misunderstood it. It's all very confusing.

"Meanwhile, so-called Islamic State (IS), which controls large swathes of northern and eastern Syria, is battling government forces, rebel brigades and Kurdish militias, as well as facing air strikes by Russia and a US-led multinational coalition. ... Moscow stressed that it would target only "terrorists", but activists said its strikes mainly hit Western-backed rebel groups. "

Looks as if the UK has got off lightly as far as taking in Syrian refugees is concerned.
