TOPIC: The wonderful Anna Raccoon
#160587
The wonderful Anna Raccoon 7 Years ago
is back home out of hospital in a specially constructed bed as her spine has now been attacked and she's paralysed from the waist down. But she says the NHS has been absolutely wonderful; and she has a new crusade. Having discovered that 25% of the NHS budget is spent on paying fines and suits for malpractice or mistakes out to the few patients who suffer when they get it wrong, she's rampaging that, in many of those cases, it really doesn't make any difference to the families of the deceased, for example, and is often just greed or vindictiveness (punish them). If people could be persuaded NOT to seek compensation unless it is hugely necessary (rather like the absurd and dangerous compensation culture in sex claims) the NHS could solve almost all of their budget problems in a stroke. Makes great sense to me.

I am very glad to hear that she is home, and that she is obviously still herself despite it all.

I am not at all surprised about the figures. It seems that compensation is being pushed for the most trivial things.

If mistakes happen because because of lack of funds, taking more out of the service is hardly going to help, is it?

Very happy to hear Anna is being well looked after.

The amount paid by the NHS in compensation each year is truly terrifying. The NHS Litigation Authority reports are worth a look for anyone who can get their head round very large numbers.

Sorry to hear about the progression of the disease but it's good to hear that she's still in fighting spirit.
