released without charge. Could it be that police realised any prosecution would lead to charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice? How many people wonder whether if all the thousands of cops wasting time and money investigating ludicrous false claims against dead people (mainly wealthy ones, in the hope of getting compensation) had been used to investigate loonies, killers like Masood might not have been in positions to stab police officers? A friend mentioned to me yesterday is the only time they see police on the streets these days is when they are mourning dead cops. Perhaps if they were on the streets more and chasing old queens less we'd have fewer murdered innocents.

If it wasn't for the Henriques report they'd still be on bail.

As usual the Weasel Words "insufficient evidence" are used - as Cliff said, echoing Gambo and many others outraged, there is insufficient evidence that all Chief Constables are paedophiles, rapists and murderers too; might police consider changing "insufficient evidence" to "a load of old bollocks" and start charging people with Conspiring to Pervert the Course of Justice?

And start using the millions wasted on Operation Conifer and other ludicrous investigations on simple things like putting a couple of armed cops at the Westminster gates to the Houses of Parliament in order to protect innocent, decent officers doing their job from being murdered instead of throwing it a absurd allegations involving penknives and dead PMs?t

Worth listening to an excellent interview with Richard Hoskins on the Today programme this morning - very critical of Wiltshire Police:

That podcast is gob smacking. Thank you for the link. Should be required listening for everyone involved in this madness.

Excellent and Kudos to the good Doctor for daring to speak the truth. Aren't police aware of the way public opinion is going? I think Henriques and Hoskins must be the Walrus and Carpenter of our new Wonderland. Me? The Red Queen, of course. Anna? The White Rabbit - oops - Raccoon. MWT is TweedleDum or is it Dee? Savile is the Cheshire Cat - he's faded but his grin remains. And Ted Heath is sitting on a hooker somewhere - I mean mushroom smoking a hookah.

07:49: “… and obviously we don’t want to go back to the situation with Jimmy Savile where things were covered up …”

Oh really Dr Hoskins? And what ‘credible evidence’ do you have to support your claim that things were covered up? The words pot, kettle, and black immediately spring to mind.

Yes that made me wince too but it's just another illustration of how media coverage influences even the more sane members of society including ourselves.
