TOPIC: Decca and Sir Edward Lewis
#161615

Decca and Sir Edward Lewis 6 Years, 11 Months ago
I know Wikipedia is shit but the biog of Lewis is absolutely dreadful. I worked there in the 1970s when you were around JK and remember the way the company had lots of hits. None of that is covered. I once saw you come in and use the hallowed right hand side elevator which only Sir Edward and you were entitled to use. They even spell his wife Maisie's name wrong. He was a legend in the recorded music industry and deserves better.

You're right Al; looking at it, it is really wrong throughout. Trouble with Wiki is - it started as a brilliant idea and has fallen apart as the years have gone by and the obsessed loonies have taken over. Now it is edited by haters (why is it only those with negative feelings seem prompted to write?) or dull as dust pedants. Those later years were brilliant; we achieved some incredible profits and Sir Edward wanted to give me the company (the music side) as long as I promised to run it for the rest of my life which I couldn't do (I should have; as I should have taken on EMI when offered the Chairman job but fate intervened on that one). The British and global music world would be in a very different state.
