Yesterday's Headline Story 18 Years, 1 Month ago
...making out that "child porn" (*sic, it is not really "porn" in the true sense of the word, it's recorded child abuse, calling it "porn" is another shock!horror! tactic) is increasing ten-fold on the internet,it got me thinking..
You see I personally have looked at all sorts during my 6 years online, especially at the beginning, when I say "all sorts" of course I mean all sorts of pornography, some of the kind that used to create several pop-ups I wasn't interested in, six years of my hotmail account being jam-spammed with all sorts of garbage... and yet I have never once stumbled inadvertantly accross any of this apparant "kiddie porn". And none of my friends have either (and they wouldn't be scared to say if they'd inadvertantly clicked on something). Which makes me wonder... are we once again being manipulated into believing:
1) The world is full of perverts out to rape our children, for instance any single man with a pc should be instantly UNDER SUSPICION
2) The internet is a terrible thing and must be REGULATED into submission. We must DEMAND REGULATION NOW or else we are all damned to living in a world filled with EVIL PERVERTS
3) That "kiddie porn" is a MASSIVE PROBLEM.... bigger then the failing economy, the immoral oil wars, the death of our freedom etc etc.
Now, of course it would nice to stamp it out, but I believe my children are far more at risk from many other things more so
than this alleged explosion in kiddie fiddling.

I am personally convinced that most of the increase in traffic for kiddie porn sites comes from police stations - where they surf for hours just looking for it !
