Don't misunderstand me; I tend to like the Irish (North and South) but have you noticed that many DUP politicians tend to look like the pigs in George Orwell's Animal Farm?

Whatever DUP politicians may look like, Ms May didn't realise what she was getting into by attempting an alliance with an NI party.

All are experienced and skilful negotiators - with their own agenda. One of the DUP goals is to increase the financial support from HMG.

Currently £1 billion every month - and now Sinn Fein and the Republic are becoming involved.

The Queen's Speech will go ahead (without formalities/crown, procession etc.) notwithstanding the absence of agreement, with the vote - on the Speech - to take place next week.

But typically - the DUP have tactfully engineered themselves into a position of strength, where time is simply running out for the Tories...

So little things like lots more money for Northern Ireland; instead of new UK firefighters and junior doctors and nurses and police who do something (as opposed to police bosses who don't) in the rest of Great Britain. That'll go down well in the Tory heartland!

The DUP are back in Downing Street today to continue their negotiations - from a strong position - on whether to go into a 'confidence and supply' agreement with the Tories.

Confidence - or support, will not be a problem. Supply might be, as in this case, it means more money for NI - much more than the £1 billion a month they already get!

A vote on the Queen's Speech takes place this week and the DUP have skilfully manoeuvred the Tories into a position where they have little alternative but to pay for the DUP's cooperation.

I dont think it came with illustrations, so your pigs might be different to my pigs, but Tony Blair was always Napoleon to me, and Boris Johnson is squealer.

I was right. The DUP got an extra £1.5 billion for their support as well as more money for their military veterans.

And the continuation of the winter fuel allowance forthe entire UK, as we as many other concessions.

May and the Tories simply bought their support - and there will be a price rise every year by the DUP, who will hold them to ransom.
