Man allegedly abused by ex-bishop criticises his early release 6 Years, 10 Months ago
Sex abuse bishop Peter Ball released from prison

"Richard Scorer, a lawyer representing a number of Ball's victims, said his early release was "an affront to justice" and "a huge blow to his victims" ... Mr Johnson, from Eastbourne, who was not one of the 18 people Ball admitted abusing, alleges that Ball inappropriately touched him as a 13-year-old boy."

Eastbourne brothers speak of church sex abuse ordeal

"Two brothers have spoken of the repeated abuse they were subjected to by an East Sussex Anglican priest and their fight for justice. Phil and Gary Johnson from Eastbourne were abused by the Reverend Roy Cotton, who worked for the Diocese of Chichester, in the 1970s and 1980s."

Child sex abuse in the Church: alliance demands full inquiry

"Phil Johnson, from Eastbourne, suffered abuse at the hands of two Anglican priests over a period of around nine years. Colin Pritchard was convicted in 2008 and Roy Cotton died before coming to trial."

So that seems to be three members of the Anglican church accused by the same person. Being abused by one person seems very bad lack but by three? He appears to run a survivors group, described by a local Labour party office as a charity.

Bexhill and Battle Labour

"To mark the life and work of the late MP Jo Cox, Bexhill and Battle Labour party hosted a lunch and afternoon workshop on Saturday 17 June at the Emmanuel Centre in Battle. The workshop looked at ending ‘Rape Violence’ with guest speakers from Sussex Police and Eastbourne Survivors ... Phil Johnson spoke on behalf of Eastbourne Survivors, a charity which supports victims of child sexual abuse and adults who were subject to abuse as children. Phil told his own story of abuse at the hands of Church of England clergy and his long fight for justice. His message was that we need to educate the public by talking about rape and sexual abuse."

Eastbourne Survivors (it doesn't appear to be on the Charity Commission's register of charities apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/ShowCharit.../AdvancedSearch.aspx)

there are very good reasons victims and claimants are excluded from various processes in law including sentencing, jailing and eventual release and parole.

For a solicitor to write and make this claim is extraordinary.
