Looking at the fat woman conviction (other thread) as well as the David Bryant/Danny Day, Geoff Long and other recent miscarriages of justice (so many)... since it appears that Police are not doing their duty to investigate false accusers and the CPS are not doing their duty (asking police whether they have checked false accuser computers, phones, background etc)... if you are accused - DO IT YOURSELF. It may be time consuming unless you can afford a Private Investigator (often given on Legal Aid) but it is essential you discover the backstory. Many false accusers are serial offenders (they got away with it before - do it again). Likewise, check the detailed background of the investigators (often not real police but retired traffic wardens) employed by the force who, themselves, may be dodgy. Every detail. Look, read, find. These days the Internet not only provides false accusers with facts to bolster their fake claims but it also provides fascinating local and personal information.

Quite apart from anything else, after your acquittal you'll need it in cases brought against the bent cops, lawyers etc for perjury, conspiracy to pervert, malfeasance etc. This HAS to be the way this scandal develops.
