TOPIC: Corbyn is so good
#164371
Corbyn is so good 6 Years, 9 Months ago
His answer on Marr regarding his position on the EU was absolutely fair; he disliked many financial aspects but approved of many social issues. As a society we find it hard to see shades of grey.

I look forward to the inevitable - Prime Minister Corbyn before this time next year.

Well ITK - remembering well (as I'm sure you do) your predictions of a Tory Landslide before the ghastly May woman tugged her party into a minority propped up by the DUP - let's see whether your prediction of 5 years until the next election holds up.

Its not a prediction JK, its a fact !

The people wanted to "temper" the Tory victory - which is why some vote Loony (and some voted twice !!! - but that was only because they knew he didn't stand a chance !

You seem to forget - he actually got no more seats that Kinnock or Foot.

If they actually believed he was in with a chance they would vote very very carefully next time.

Reality will kick in next year with Corbyn when the next general election is held May/June.

ITK I wager you a sixpence I'm nearer than you with GE date.

you're on ! (even though I'd have difficulty finding a sixpence these days).

What on Earth makes you think the Tories will grant an election?

If they replace May (Davis?) he simply becomes automatic PM (as is traditional ... for example when Brown followed Blair) - no election needed for nearly 5 years !

Jeremy Corbyn's claim on Sunday that he had never promised to write off student debt from loans for university tuition fees, during the election campaign, makes front page headlines.

For the Sun, it's a jaw-dropping U-turn.

The Daily Express says it's small wonder that thousands of students queued at the polling stations in the false hope that if Mr Corbyn were prime minister, he would shake the magic money tree at them.

The Daily Mail describes the Labour leader's argument that he didn't know how much it would cost to do so, as a risible excuse.

I agree. I am sure the Conservatives have learned their lesson about calling unnecessary elections!

But I suspect Conservatives will have little say in the matter; if their support collapses. It only needs a few deaths, a mild rebellion, public anger... which will certainly happen if May tries to dig in and stay. The woman is a walking (the Alps) disaster area.

Why should it bother you are a wealthy man and hardly live in the UK ?

Even if Corbyn was PM you still be globetrotting.

Lefties rarely live in the real world they always seem to have little responsibility.

Walking through Canterbury last week. I heard students say 'I only voted Labour so that my debts will be written off' or 'I voted as my parents can't afford my debts'.

There was even posters saying Tories will scrap the NHS. No government will scrap the NHS.

It shows how thick your tradition loony Labour voter is, andrew.

In the 1920s it was vote Labour for a better life.

Well ... they voted Labour (many times) but they still live in the same hovels and slums as they did back then.

Those gastric band operations cost so much, don't they?

If someone can explain how letting a Loony organisation - which has poured money down the drain so many times (anyone remember their NHS IT project??? - will improve things, I'd be glad to hear it.

Any "new money" will simply go to pay higher wages for their Union "owners" ... and ALL the problems will STILL be there (but it will cost more)!

Quite right Andrew and the NHS rightly has to care for all of them; like police; they need more money; which should partly come through better use of resources. And partly from government with extra funds coming from taxing the wealthy slightly more and borrowing slightly more. Let's give it a go.

The Tories have given it a go!

Borrowing £1,000 billion, since 2010.

And doubling the National Debt to near £2,000 billion.

Further borrowing is not on - until, at least, a trade surplus is achieved.

Something the Tories haven't managed for 30 years.

86,000 NHS vacancies - www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-40715955 - and no one willing to fill them !

It doesnt not matter how much money you pour into the NHS, the result will not improve - it will go to administrators, managers, filing clerks etc etc
