The Loonies have always been huge fans of Hugo Chavez (the loony who drove the country with more oil than anyone else to bankruptcy !)
Look at the aftermath of following nutters -
Nine out of 10 Venezuelans say they cannot afford enough food. Three quarters have lost weight in the last year. Maternal mortality rates have shot up. People are routinely dying of treatable conditions because doctors can no longer find the most basic of drugs.
"Life under Corbyn rule?" Last I recall is that Hugo Chavez is no longer in government and Jeremy Corbyn still leader of "the opposition" and the provided evidence here for a conclusion - one sensational news media story coverage.
Reality, in possibly (conjecture only I accept), most countries a good leader can turn a country from disaster to success and a bad leader can turn a country from success to disaster, in a very short time months to a year or so. (Example Cameron for some reason beyond my understanding promoted the BREXIT vote and now what does the UK have!!!)
It is good here "finally" to consider other countries and history examples to learn from. That is the "smart thing" and correct thing to do BUT very seldom followed.
But I plead with responsible people in the UK to take an "intelligent approach" and consider fully documented, well researched and extablished facts. Thus informed decisions and well thought out reasons for decisions. Was anything to do with Brexit well reasoned and thought out. Or was the whole thing from most sides if not all sides just an emotional exercise.
Opposition parties are boycotting the Constituency Assembly election, claiming President Nicolas Maduro will use its result to crush dissenters and tighten his grip on power.
The president cast his ballot in the capital Caracas.
If successful, President Maduro will essentially govern a one-party state, controlling the powerful 545-member body charged with re-writing the Venezuelan constitution.
The vote marks the peak of four months of protests that have seen 110 people killed in clashes with riot police.
This is standard Communist / Loony tactics - they CANNOT win an election by being open and honest so they promise anything - then once elected, "change" the constitution to make themselves in power forever.
The current President (hand picked by Chavez - the one the Loonies love) is a former Communist / Union leader and bus driver !

"Corbyn was a longtime admirer of Venezuela under its late socialist leader Hugo Chávez, whom he described in 2013 as “an inspiration to all of us fighting back against austerity and neoliberal economics in Europe”.
The Labour leader has also previously given his backing to Maduro, who succeeded Chávez. In 2014, he called to congratulate the new president live on a Venezuelan television channel; Maduro introduced Corbyn, then a backbencher, as a “friend of Venezuela”.
Asked whether he condemned Maduro’s actions, Corbyn said: “What I condemn is the violence that’s been done by any side, by all sides, in all this. Violence is not going to solve the issue.
...
The Lib Dem leader, Vince Cable, said: “The whole idea that Chávez and his successor could serve as a dry run for government in the UK is absolutely horrifying. The leadership of the Labour party must make it abundantly clear that they have ended their infatuation with the Venezuelan regime.”"
