There is a horrible trend within the media at the moment.
They have always liked to knock people but they seem to be stepping up their bile a few notches of late.
Look at the Heather Mills stories that emerge with relentless frequency, regardless of what you think of her does anyone deserve what she is getting? It is bullying in it's purest form and the majority of the country now believe that she is the spawn of satan without any actual knowledge of her as a person. The media make comments like 'she's just an attention seeking idiot' whilst at the same time sending out countless reporters and paps to harrass her and get her in the papers? how does that contradiction fit?
Then there was the big brother nonsense. World news??? we have millions of people dying of diseases and starvation, wars all over the globe and injustice wherever you look, and the media get on their moral high grounds about none of this because they are too busy discussing a woman of limited intelligence saying poppadom about an indian woman. They then jumped on the bullying bandwagon and said how awful it was before launching into one of the most horrible and intense campaigns of media bullying i have ever seen, they tried to ruin those girls and the sun's vicky newton was name calling like a teenage mean girl.
It is a nasty and very contradictory trend which I hope goes away. Maybe when one of their victims commits suicide they may take stock... unlikely though isn't it, someone else would get the blame no doubt.
The Big Brother situation was notably bad this time, millions tuned in to watch people as they approached nervous breakdowns.
That is truely sick television.
I worry that it will all end in Celebrity Big Brother Hospice.
