TOPIC: Vince Cable PM?
#166260
Vince Cable PM? 6 Years, 7 Months ago
I've always liked Cable and, indeed, when I've voted in my 72 years it was normally Liberals or Lib Dems. I went off them when they supported spending our tax monies killing innocent women and children when in Coalition; but I went off all politicians and, indeed, Democracy. I think Jeremy Corbyn would make a good Prime Minister and might even vote Labour next time, simply to get rid of the May woman. But Cable and the Lib Dems are definite contenders as a more palliative alternative (the sheep hate Corbyn only because the media tells them to). One of the biggest negatives for Corbyn is his approach to Brexit. Ditch it, stop wasting money, use the spare cash elsewhere like on hospitals, schools, prisons.

Pretty much agree. I still like Corbyn but was somewhat disillusioned by the back pedal on Students University fees, after obtaining so much support from said students. Felt like that move was cynical exploitation which made him just like all the other lying politicians. But I think I'd rather Satan than May. Oh, hang on...

Oh, and did you mean 'palliative'? According to my dictionary, palliative:
ˈpalɪətɪv adjective 1.(of a medicine or medical care) relieving pain without dealing with the cause of the condition.
As in how you look after someone when they're dying... which, I suppose, on a National scale might have been exactly what you did mean!

He said the party would try and reduce the burden of debt though, not totally write it off.

Yes - it never ceases to amaze me how stories are deliberately simplified and exaggerated, in all areas (just wait until you experience a Court Case) in order to give a headline or a great story; again and again until they become totally different.

Trust the Labour paper The Guardian to do a nice "spin" on it !

It was the Green Party who proposed to scrap all existing student debt. Mr Corbyn promised only to scrap tuition fees for new students.

Yes the simplification and infantilisation of humanity bounds ahead; if you can't say it in a headline, forget it (even if it's wrong). Vote for nice hair and good teeth. If you're Tory, be Tory. If you're Labour, be Labour. No wonder juries vote GUILTY.
