TOPIC: I Pity Priti
#168505
I Pity Priti 6 Years, 5 Months ago
The media is so desperate to construct GREAT STORIES out of unimportant and trivial situations. It's time Government by tabloid was stopped. I really cannot stand the slogan, 140 character media stars like Derbyshire deliberately building scandals out of tiny, unimportant events. Sickening and, worse than that, lethal.

Apparently, the report about Mike Veale's retirement in yesterday's Times was also incorrect (or is it Swindon Advertiser who have got their facts wrong?) It's not just exaggeration that's a big problem these days but also inaccuracy. It causes such confusion and distrust. I was recently told by someone who used to work for a regional paper in the 60s that they always checked their sources at least 3 times in those days!

Ms Priti has just been called back from abroad by the PM - as more meetings with Israeli officials have come to light.

Ones she failed to mention to Ms May a couple of days ago!

It seems that, during a 13 day family holiday, she met half the Israeli cabinet.

And without feeling the need/requirement to mention some (or most) of the meetings to the necessary parties.

Why pity a politician clearly on a political suicide mission?

I tend to pity a lot of people who perhaps don't deserve my pity Spee. I personally feel there are far more important areas of government than remembering to inform people about meetings but perhaps I'm being naive and you and the media are correct - this is the end of the world (until tomorrow). Is WeenSteen involved?

I take your points.

But I cannot recall a cabinet minister ever having a meeting with another country's PM - without telling anyone, including her own PM!

Exit left - by the weekend, or earlier. As they'll have to ascertain who else this lady has been talking to.

Trump and/or Putin?

she's absolutely ghastly.

But she really blew it by her Israeli actions and was acting as an agent for a foreign power.

What went through her head? Can she possibly be that stupid or is she just arrogant.

Good riddance I say.

Patel's deputy, Alistair Burt, also had similar meetings in Israel - separately!

Many meetings were attended by Lord Polak, head of a pro-Israeli group and PR consultant.

And Patel broke protocol in visiting Golan - not recognised by her government/employer.

She didn't think it worth mentioning either...

Actually it's us I pity; society dominated by truisms and cliches; was she any good? I have no idea but like sexual transgressions, I reckon the important thing is - do they do a good job? Not which sex or skin colour or obeying silly rules.
