But am I too cynical that these stories (never verifiable, like historical sex allegations) seem to pop up whenever our government is going through big, negative problems? The theory is that the public will rally around a beleaguered leader. However - there could be millions thinking... if only...

Yes, its likely that people try to kill the prime minister all the time but we only hear of it when they want to distract us from her making a fool of herself.

They would have had to get past Larry the Cat first and that would be a formidable task.
Especially if Palmerston next door joined forces...

What lovely cats. One of them looks like my Ringo.
I have accidentally got four of them now.
