Strictly Semis 6 Years, 4 Months ago
Last year I tipped Ore before I saw any of them dancing - he was on BBC Brekkie and I'd never heard of him but thought he brimmed with charm, confidence and star quality. This year I reckon the final three will be Joe, Alexandra and Debbie - and the two girls deserve to be the last two. Social media goes on about them both being professionally trained. Who cares? They are both brilliant. I wouldn't know which to tip but, again, for me, the star of the series has been AJ. I wish I was younger (and less viewed as a Vile Pervert) - I'd turn him into the Fred Astaire of this century. But a 73 year old national horror has no chance, sadly. Still I can only hope someone else does it. Rather as unfortunately, thanks to Surrey Police, the global music industry has paid the price of my massive talent being removed from it. Oh well; no point in crying over spilt milk. I make the most of my continuing fabulous and happy life. It's the rest of you who suffers!

I think that Debbie will win, as the public don't seem to like Alexandra, despite brilliant results. She seems to have a chip on her shoulder. She will get the final because she is sure to win any dance-offs, but when it comes to the final, its up to the public. I think Gemma will reach the final, as she is very popular with the public, and hot to trot. Aj is good looking, no doubt, but this show is about the celebrities, not the professional dancers.
Jk I wouldn't let age spoil your ambition, it hasn't stopped Corbyn, Trump, Hilary, or Vince Cable, and as far as the rest of us missing out on your massive talent, I don't think too many people are losing sleep about not getting a 2017 remix of Uma Paloma blanca.

I would say, Robbie, that my greatest talent in music is - or was - behind the scenes. Had I been able to head up EMI worldwide in 2000, as requested then, I think the company and the country would be in a different and better place than it is today. And worldwide music would still be as enormous as it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. We may sell more now (at cut price rates) and have superstars (who?) but music is no longer the enormous industry it was. Top of the Pops would still be on the air and with huge viewing figures. iTunes would be doing far more for the industry than it does for itself. The Brits would be fantastic. But then - I would say that!

I don't think that we sell a fraction of the records that we sold in the 80s. A record that was no. 17 in 1978 (Shooting Stars by Dollar) would now make no. 1 on the same no of sales. You can't include streamings from spotify, as that would be like including radio airplays in the charts. We have a generation of people growing up believing that music is free to be accessed via spotify or illegal downloads. I don't doubt your contribution to music, bringing us some great bands like 10cc, Genesis, and breaking the Bay City Rollers, as well as your own hits. I don't think music can ever be as big as the 60s, 70s, or 80s, as everything has been done, there is nothing new to say.

My job (had I been allowed to do it) would have been to make music as mass appeal and essential to everyone now as it was then. Which is what I used to do. Agreed - winning Eurovision, championing Who Let The Dogs Out and I Get Knocked Down and so on may not have fitted everyone's concept of mass popularity but I would have ensured there was something for everyone and not just catered for specialist cliques.

Only sad to see this because AJ is so fantastic - the star of the last two Series. Mollie had very little going for her.
