After being jailed numerous times previously the sentence HAS to be greater to add to the deterent.

Lesser sentences have clearly failed.

Until he popped up in the news today I'd never heard of him, and I'm still not sure what the dark web is, but I'm always surprised how quickly people rush to judgement on such limited info - no matter what the case.

Clement Goldstone QC, gave him prison sentences totalling 454 years, to run concurrently.
We also learn that the learned judge felt it appropriate to describe Bennell as "the Devil incarnate", claims he considered imprisoning him for life, but expects him to die in prison anyway...and, given that, suggests the CPS should think carefully about pressing further charges.
