we've entered fantasy land with Corbyn 6 Years, 1 Month ago
I think most of Britain has finally gone insane and decided Black really is White.

When Jeremy Corbyn made his very reasonable statement in Parliament (asking for definite proof before we go batshit crazy attacking a country with 5000 nuclear bombs) those on the Tory bench hooted, hollered and chortled away like banshees as Britain's vast right-wing media accused Jeremy of not acting in statesmanlike fashion.

Jeremy Corbyn has been demanding the UK government under the Tragic May enforce the The Magnitsky Act as the US Congress overwhelmingly did in retaliation to the dreadful circumstances surrounding the murder of the Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in a Moscow prison in 2009.

David Cameron & Therese May refuse to with support from mostly all Conservatives.

Jeremy Corbyn has repeatedly asked for the UK government to freeze the Russian Oligarchs multi £Billions of ill gotten funds they have ripped off the Russian people with Putin's aid, or investigate the way in which the City of London is used to "wash" this money.....the Tories refuse to.

The Tories have received £Millions (as did the US Republicans) in campaign donations from Russian Oligarchs (you don't survive as one unless you are in league with Putin).

But the gutter tabloids (they all are now) hyperventilate that Corbyn is the "traitor" because he not only condemned Russia if they are responsible for the current poisonings...but advised we need to have concrete proof and tread carefully.

This really is madness.

All that will happen is after expelling some Russian diplomats and Russian doing likewise..nothing, absolutely nothing will happen and most certainly...the very real sanctions Jeremy Corbyn is demanding be imposed against Russia (money money money) will be ignored.

Is the vast general public really thick and stupid to fall for this vacuous but dangerous politicking..or can they see through some unbelievable pathetic but dangerous games being played by the right-wing media on behalf of the clueless Tories who will never impose the slightest financial imposition ( which is the only way to pay them back) on the Russians?

# the worst aspect is that the media have simply ignored what Corbyn said or blatantly lied..you only have to Google it...blatant lies (so what's new? ). Does the public have no integrity and don't mind being played for fools? A good percentage on them in the US seem to not mind.

after all..what could possibly go wrong...

It does seem a reasonable stance for Jeremy Corbyn to take. If the Magnitsky Act were applied I wonder who would conduct the necessary investigations. Private Eye used to - maybe still does - refer to the Serious Fraud Office as the Serious Farce Office.

Further proof that hedda is out of touch with reality !!!!

Young voters aged 18-34 - a group in which support for Mr Corbyn and his Labour Party is particularly strong - are evenly split, with 49% choosing Mrs May and 51% preferring Jeremy Corbyn.

In contrast, the Prime Minister is preferred by 69% to 31% among those aged 35-54, and 81% to 19% by people aged 55 and over.

... even the young (impressionable .. and not thought-through) "vote" is slipping away, hedda !

The important thing is that every Brit should relish having 2 distinct major political parties.

People should have a clear choice of competing policies rather than 2 main parties that mirror each other. If you need explaining why that is important then there is no point in doing so.

The popularity of leaders really doesn't mean much especially when they are so close.
Here is what Corbyn said in Parliament which the gutter media have blatantly lied about to it's readers (probably rightly assuming that few people actually see Parliamentary debates)....while the right wing claim he failed to condemn Russia:

“The attack in Salisbury was an appalling act of violence, Nerve agents are abominable if used in any war. It is utterly reckless to use them in a civilian environment”.

“We have a duty to speak out about the abuse of human rights by the Putin Government and their supporters, both at home and abroad, and I join many others in this House in paying tribute to the many campaigners in Russia for human rights, justice and democracy in that country. We must do more to address the dangers posed by the state’s relationship with unofficial mafia-like groups and corrupt oligarchs”.

“The events in Salisbury earlier this month are abominable and have been rightly condemned across the House. Britain has to build a consensus with our allies, and we support the Prime Minister in taking multilateral and firm action to ensure that we strengthen the chemical weapons convention and that this dreadful, appalling act, which we totally condemn, never happens again in our country”
