Life is full of never ending problems 6 Years ago
Just knocked a bottle off a shelf - it fell onto my oven; not a crack on the bottle but totally wrecked the ceramic hob of the oven! Shattered! A brand new oven... well, I say that; checked; it was 20 years ago I bought it. So onto retailers for a new oven. Must be same size. It is not as easy as it sounds.

So many people go through life without ever claiming on their house insurance (and car) - certainly not me!

Now might well be the time for you to start, by reading the accidental damage section of your policy.

The claim can probably be made on the telephone - without the need for filling out complicated claim forms, like in the old days.

Mr King, do get an induction hob if you possibly can. It is so much cheaper to run and similar to gas to use.
For instant controls (instead of having to press three buttons before you can turn down the temperature) you need AEG/Electrolux, or Samsung.

Oh, no, how annoying. Hope you get it sorted out. Perhaps you'll prefer the new oven.
